A review of The Trawlerman by Elaine phillips written on Thursday 19th of January 2012
I went in lunchtime and asked for "fish chips, mushy peas and a cup of tea - it cost £9.50 which i thought was extremely steep - i thought there would have been some deal where you got the mushy peas thrown in and perhaps the tea. When the food came it was the smallest piece of fish with only a handful of chips... very dissapointing. I didn't specify - nor was i asked what size i wanted... it was just a set price but given the size of the meal I believe i was either overcharged or the food just wasn't value for money. Given the competition around a present i was surprised as you can get a really good pub lunch for much less!! I used to go to the trawlerman with work colleagues but this experience has really put me off going back! .
