A review of Rainbow Roofing by Jerome Fabre written on Saturday 3rd of September 2022
I don’t normally leave feedback but I thought, on this occasion, I would share my experience with Gary at Rainbow roofing and building services limited.
We started our loft conversion in August 2021 with a different builder who went into administration few weeks after starting the job. We were left with my wife and our 2 kids with no roof (rafters only) no gable end walls (tarpaulin) and no central heating just before winter.
We met Gary for the first time in October 2021 when he came to give us a quote to finish our loft. We had a very good first impression; we went to see a loft conversion he had recently done and we were equally impressed by the feedback of his previous customer and the quality of his work. Gary sent us a very competitive quote and due to the urgent nature of our situation, he managed to pause the projects he was working on, after explaining to his customers our situation, and was able to start within a couple of weeks.
When Gary started working, we immediately noticed that his communication was excellent, he always kept us informed of what he was doing, what was the next step and was always advising on the various options we had when unexpected things occurred. He also corrected few mistakes the previous builder made, which would have ended up in very serious structural issues. He was on time, working hard very long hours using his head torch at the end of the day and was leaving the site tidy. He was great with the kids and very accommodating with my shift work.
The quality of his work is absolutely fantastic, 3 different teams of scaffolders complemented us on the finish of the roof and the gable end walls, and they see a lot of new roofs. All our neighbours were impressed with his work and talked highly about how polite, quiet and hardworking he was on site. A couple of them actually asked him to do some work in their house. His attention to detail is remarkable. Gary has gone the extra mile in many different ways and we really felt he cared about us and our home.
He gradually introduced us to his close team of electrician, plumber, window fitter, ground worker, plasterer and carpenter he has been working with for many years and we were equally impressed with all of them. We had this same feeling of genuine nice people who were very knowledgeable in their trade and cared about their work.
Gary not only did an amazing job with our loft conversion and our new roof but he also gave us the support and reassurance we needed when we were right at the bottom.
Like most people, I do not like having builders in the house, but I never really mind when Gary was around; we actually missed him when he was gone. We spent a lot of time with him during these few months, having lunch together and talking about various things, and I can say that Gary is now much more than our builder.
I have recommended him to my friends and family. If you are looking for a builder you can trust, a genuine good person who cares about his job and is very good at it, look no further!
