"Stuck in the cold for 50 mins"

My experience with Alpha Cars was very poor, we booked a taxi from the taxi rank just before 11:30pm to go to Andover. I checked the board and as we were going to arrive in Andover before 12, we would be charged £30. As we were in the taxi, I noticed the driver was driving very slow, which made me think that this was intentional so that we would arrive in Andover after 12am and therefore be charged £45! Eventually the driver stopped at the basingstoke golf club because he wasn’t feeling well! He called his manager to say that he was logging off and that another taxi needed to come out to collect us, he confirmed with the lady that another taxi was on its way to which she said yes. We were sat in the car for 30 mins and still no car had arrived to collect us, but what made it worse is that the guy switched the car off, undone the windows and then got out of the car so we were sat there freezing! We could hear the guy on the phone confirming when the taxi would come and eventually waited for 45 mins before my boyfriend had to call the taxi rank to explain the situation, the guy on the phone told us that the taxi driver never explained that he had passengers waiting, even though we heard him say it multiple times. Eventually after 50 mins of waiting in the cold, another taxi arrived to take us home but because it was now 12:30am, we were going to be charged £45! We complained to the taxi driver that we were not happy paying the full price but as he was only a driver he could not resolve the issue and that we had to contact the manager. In addition to this, our children were at home and our babysitter had to wait over an hour for us to come home and therefore we had to pay her for this additional hour! Overall we are extremely disappointed with our experience with Alpha Cars and lack of communication!.
